Illuminate your home by using UPCYCLED-HANDCRAFTED eco Planters Small. The planter will embrace your favourite indoor plants in chic style. You can either directly plant with soil or use it as a cover for the pots. A built-in drainage hole protects it from overwatering and places it on a plate so that the excess water is collected. Alternately, you can also use the planters as organiser baskets, either use to keep towels in the bathroom or magazines in the living room or kid’s toys and stationeries. There are endless possibilities!

  • Colour: Black Red
  • Dimensions: 5.5” height, 4.5” x 4.5” base
  • Product Details: UPCYCLED-HANDCRAFTED fabric is made from waste plastic outside, waste flex banners inside, and a small hole at the bottom for extra water to seep out.

Attention: For best results, pour very little water into the plant in the planters, just enough to keep the soil moist! Besides, use a layer of moss at the base of the grow pot, and then add soil on top.

  1. Material Choice: Eco planters are often made from sustainable materials such as recycled plastics, biodegradable materials, or sustainably sourced wood. Using recycled materials reduces the need for new raw materials, thereby conserving natural resources and reducing the carbon emissions associated with the extraction, processing, and transportation of these materials. Scientific Explanation: The production of new plastics and other synthetic materials is energy-intensive and releases significant amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2). By using recycled materials, the energy consumption and CO2 emissions are significantly reduced. For example, recycling plastic saves up to 80% of the energy that would be needed to produce new plastic from raw materials .
  2. Manufacturing Process: Sustainable manufacturing processes aim to minimize energy use, waste, and emissions. Techniques such as closed-loop manufacturing, where waste materials are reused in the production process, and the use of renewable energy sources in manufacturing facilities, contribute to lowering the carbon footprint. Scientific Explanation: Manufacturing processes powered by renewable energy sources like wind, solar, or hydroelectric power produce significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to those powered by fossil fuels. Additionally, implementing energy-efficient technologies and practices in manufacturing can further reduce emissions .
  3. Product Longevity: Eco planters are designed for durability and long-term use, which means they need to be replaced less frequently. This reduces the overall environmental impact associated with the production and disposal of short-lived products. Scientific Explanation: Products that are durable and have a longer lifespan contribute to a lower carbon footprint over time. The energy and resources required for production are amortized over a longer period, reducing the environmental impact per unit of time compared to products that need to be replaced more frequently .
  4. Biodegradability and End-of-Life Disposal: Eco planters made from biodegradable materials can break down naturally without releasing harmful substances into the environment. This reduces the environmental impact at the end of the product's life cycle. Scientific Explanation: Biodegradable materials decompose through natural processes, converting into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass. This reduces the accumulation of waste in landfills and the associated methane emissions, a potent greenhouse gas. In contrast, non-biodegradable plastics can persist in the environment for centuries, contributing to pollution and greenhouse gas emissions during degradation .
  5. Carbon Offsetting and Certifications: Some manufacturers invest in carbon offset projects or obtain certifications like Cradle to Cradle, which ensure that the product meets high environmental standards throughout its lifecycle. Scientific Explanation: Carbon offsetting involves compensating for emissions by investing in projects that reduce or remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, such as reforestation or renewable energy projects. Certifications ensure that products are produced with minimal environmental impact and adhere to sustainability standards, contributing to an overall lower carbon footprint .
